Food Hierarchy Between the Herd of Horses

Updated: Sep 13

Here’s a look at the scene after grain time as the food hierarchy plays out among the herd. Watch Mississippi, the biggest badass of them all, and you’ll see why nobody dares challenge her. Each horse is fed in a separate stall because some of the older horses receive senior feed, which is more nutritious and delicious than the plain grass pellets given to the younger ones. Once the doors open after 20 minutes, though, all bets are off as they wander from stall to stall, cleaning up every last pellet, and it’s always entertaining to watch. Music by Harper O'Neill, "Guilty".
