Young Horse First Trail Ride

Week four was riding week of our Beyond the Saddle Holistic Clicker Training Program, and Monday, October 6, was a day of firsts here at Starr Horse Retreats.

Solar, born at Starr Horse Retreats three years ago, went on his first trail ride with a rider on his back. It was also the first time I rode River over the tire through the obstacle course. He placed all four feet on the large tractor tire and jumped off with me on his back. Galaxy did too! All four feet were on the tire with a rider.

These moments reflect what we practice in the Beyond the Saddle Holistic Clicker Training Program, where horses and humans learn through trust, choice, and steady communication.
