When Horses Are Allowed to Run

Horses are symbols of freedom, yet we confine them to stalls. They are grazing animals, yet we keep them in dirt. They are herd beings, yet we isolate them. They are healers, yet we restrain them with bits, whips, spurs, and cross-ties. What have we normalized? It’s time to rethink how we home our horses. It’s time to let the horses run.
