First Bareback Trail Ride | From Reverse Round Pen to the Trail
First Bareback Trail Ride for Tyler and River.
They warmed up with the reverse round pen. Unlike traditional round penning, where pressure is often used to send the horse forward, we use a target and positive reinforcement to magnetize rather than push.
Then Tyler and River took their first bareback trail ride together. Tyler has ridden River in a saddle on the trail, but this was the first time without a saddle.
River was started entirely with positive reinforcement clicker training and has never had a bit in his mouth.
