Children don’t come into the world wanting to whip horses, yank on their faces, or show them who’s boss. They want to feed them, love them, and spend time with them. This little girl is working with Slicker Wild using positive reinforcement and clicker training, building a relationship based on trust rather than force. The relationship between horses and humans is ancient and precious. Perhaps it’s time we stopped asking how to control horses and started asking how to better communicate with them.
