Starr Horse Retreats and Arenas (SHRA) is a venue for occupational certification retreats and equine-assisted healing and education using positive reinforcement (R+) ridership techniques. We work with horses advocating for their needs and care, and we work with humans through the horses. We understand that healing humanity heals the earth. Our 30-acre equestrian facility is located in Minden, Nevada. We have four arenas, a 10-stall horse barn, a workshop room, a bunkhouse for client interaction, a three-bedroom house dedicated to events, classes, and retreats, and 30 acres of pasture with multiple obstacle courses for walking and riding. Our unique equine healing and education modalities illustrate parallel issues of trust, forgiveness, and threshold limits. Through exercises, we explore emotional intelligence skills for mindful decision-making and past grief healing. Some of our unique modalities include sound healing and guided meditations in the barn, equine theater and ecstatic dancing with horses in the arenas, barnyard yoga, animal Reiki and massage, sweat lodge, flower bath, and positive reinforcement ridership workshops and clinics. We invite all curious and conscious therapists and participants to explore the possibilities with us as we create a revolution in equine healing and education. Gaia Gathering, Inc. works in collaboration with Haven Horsemanship, an equine education company promoting positive reinforcement horse training and care.
