Care farming, which includes offerings such as gardening and horticulture, animal interaction, rescue animal caregiving, green recreation;
Contemplative practices which include mindfulness & journaling;
Physical well-being which includes yoga, physical activity, and education on healthy eating and healthy sleeping.
What are the outcomes and benefits to participating in care farming?

Gain a sense of purpose
Learn vocational skills
Is care farming based in science? Yes! Care farming, as a whole and in its individual components, has been shown to help many vulnerable population groups. Many countries in Europe utilize care farming as a humanistic approach to human suffering in vulnerable groups with profoundly positive outcomes that reduce harm and help people improve emotional balance. Are the animals rescued? All of the animal helpers in Rescued Hearts Ranch have been rescued from varying levels of neglect and abuse. They are all now very well loved and fed at Starr Horse Retreats and Arenas in Minden, NV. The animals are able to choose interaction with a participant and they engage willingly. It's an important moment to connect with an animal who mirrors back compassion, empathy, and non-judgement.
Where are we located? We provide our services on the beautiful 30 acre ranch of Starr Horse Retreats and Arenas in Minden, NV.
